Work within TV shows

A fair few moons ago, I was telephoned by the C4 to ask if I would be able to assist in last minute help with seamstress work on the series Dont Tell the Bride in 2009 The one where the groom sings. At the time there was a local bridal store A-Class Brides. I was in the next morning, quickly got to deciding Leanne felt it was too plain, so I suggested I hand sew on more crystals to give it a little more shimmer and more a touch of her. Luckily being a corset lace up it didn’t need take ins but I just had to hem the dress too. Off I flew home to get this all done to drop it back to the shop late around 10pm if I remember rightly it was being collected by a family member for Leanne to wear the very next day! It really is as you see on TV! (see pic stills).

On another occasion for CBBC’s series Marrying Mum and Dad I was asked to help with altering the bride’s dress secretly for the theme of Botanical I think as it as held at the Eden Project in Cornwall. I was given a box of dried flowers and was left to add these to the dress as I felt free to do. I can’t seem to find this online anymore but will dig out a pic for you soon. Again this was such a lovely thing to be part of and to see your work on TV is really wonderful.

I thoroughly enjoyed the rush of it all and to feel I was a small part of something so fun and exciting.
